Precious Metals

This Privacy Policy describes how the Precious Metals app ("the app") handles information when you use it. The app is provided by Phoebe Apps ("we", "us").

Data we collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, and no third-party tracking.

All data you enter (holdings, purchase prices, notes, custom coin types, settings, and app passcode) is stored locally on your device. It is never sent to us or to any third party.

Network requests

To display live spot prices for gold and silver, the app makes anonymous HTTPS requests to a price data endpoint. By default this is operated by us at gold.phoe.be. These requests contain no personal information and are not associated with you or your device. You may configure the app to use a different price endpoint in Settings. If you do, those requests will be sent to that provider instead, and their privacy practices will apply.

Coin suggestions

The app includes an optional feature that lets you suggest coin types you'd like added to the built-in list. When you choose to send a suggestion, the app transmits the coin name, metal type, an optional free-text note you provide, your app version, your device locale, and a timestamp to our server at gold.phoe.be. No personal identifiers, account information, or device identifiers are sent. We use these suggestions solely to decide which coins to add in future updates. Suggestions are automatically deleted from our database after 90 days.

In-app purchases

If you subscribe to Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not see or store your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to that transaction.

Data storage and deletion

All app data is stored locally in your device's app sandbox. You can erase all data at any time from Settings within the app, or by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top.
